A couple weeks ago I was driving to work one morning, the radio off, just thinking about how I was going to start this blog. I didn’t want to go with the popular and expected “Welcome to my blog”, that’s just not unique.
You know, it’s surprising how God talks to us sometimes. As I was driving along the highway, I spot an SUV off to my right exiting the highway. In large white lettering covering the rear window, is this phrase “If you can’t live it, don’t preach it”.
Now I don’t know why this person chose to plaster this across their back windshield, nor does it matter much to me. All I know is, those words stuck out in the sea of cars and trucks surrounding me. I kept repeating it in my head ‘If you can’t live it, don’t preach it’.
I’m going to try and follow that as I write.
Now let me go into why this blog exists. There are a few reasons:
- I have a passion for the study and practice of leadership principles.
- I want to be a better writer.
- Writing will help me to be more accountable for my own practices.
- I want to help others improve their leadership.
I’m new to WordPress, and new to blogging. This means that in the beginning here the site isn’t going to look the same all the time as I learn more about WordPress and continue to make changes. Despite the learning curve I have to go around, I do plan on posting at least once a week. So with that being said, please bear with me as I figure out a final theme, layout, colors, and all that is fun and exciting with running a website. And as always, I’ll welcome any input or constructive criticism. I definitely want to hear from you.
This is going to be fun, let’s get started.
